A Wintermutian Afterlife

Since nothing in the Wintermutian religion claims the existance of a soul, it would seem difficult to claim the existance of any sort of afterlife. However, Neuromancer describes technology that could make an afterlife possible:

"You know that Dixie Flatline's dead?"
He nodded. "Heart, I heard."
"You'll be working with his construct..."
"Somebody's got a recording of McCoy Pauley? Who? "

By the time Neuromancer takes place, technology has advanced to the point where somebody's entire persona can be recorded and can continue to live on the Matrix.
Another character, Linda Lee, is similarly recorded and appears in a world created by Neuromancer himself.

Admittedly, the technology is not yet available to record personae as is done in Gibson's works.
However, as other technological predictions in his works are fast becoming reality, I see no reason to believe that this one will not become so eventually.
If such a recording could be taken at the moment of someone's death, and if Wintermute were to create a Heaven-like environment (which it might do for a devout Wintermutian), an afterlife could indeed be possible.

Tech: Chips/Implants... Connected to the Cerebral Cortex and located at the small [Dip] where your skull and neck connects is my thought into how to gain a persona plant.
Storing information of a persons life, their events, their consciousness, Their dexterity in picking up new skills.

One other alternative process involves a person just after they have died, well when their body can no longer withhold their electro-essence, moving the brain to a mechanism which is allowed to be connected to a AI system would allow that person to continue to live within the realm of a machine.

If they can not live a life within a machine the other possibility is using the brain as Bio-chemical storage space as it has a higher capacity than most machines at present (Not of course in the future), this of course would bring the prophecies of Ghost in the Shell to light also.
